Unlocking Impact: Keys to Successful Partnerships
Service Learning and Community Engagement Conference, Hosted by Western New York Service Learning Coalition
- What makes a partnership between a faculty member, students, and a nonprofit organization successful?
- What is the depth of the work that goes into creating a mutually-beneficial experience in the community?
- Is it possible for colleges and universities to do more harm than good when it comes to tackling our community’s biggest challenges?
During the Western New York Service-Learning Coalition’s biennial conference, we will develop a multi-answer response to these questions and others related to successful partnerships. In a collaborative gathering of faculty, nonprofit organization leaders and coordinators, higher education professionals, and students, we will provide resources and best practices to deepen the quality of partnerships, develop collaborative projects and initiatives, and define the meaning of reciprocity in the community through a combination of plenary presentations, concurrent sessions, poster sessions, and round-table discussions.
As a result of great partnerships imaginative, innovative and intriguing practices integrate service learning and civic engagement into our community to address and meet the many new challenges that we face. Join your colleagues from the community and the field of education to discover and share experiences and research that broaden and expand strategies. This conference will inspire and inform participants to consider a broad spectrum of methods to reach their goals.
